Chronic pelvic pain, whether attributed to a problem in the prostate, bladder, the pelvic floor muscles, or other problems have a reason they exist. Dr. Yarnell's approach is to investigate and find the causes and treat or remove that, with a goal of total cure of the problem. This usually involves an investigation of the pelvic floor muscles as well as digestive health (really, it's often connected!) among other problems. Treatments are instituted when a cause can be determined aimed at eliminating or mitigating the cause(s). This is often a complex process and take several months to both make a determination of the best course of care, as well as the actual course of treatment itself.
There are almost never simple silver bullets/quick fixes to the extremely complex problem of chronic pelvic pain, but that doesn't mean there isn't hope! It only requires a realization that some work and changes will be required on your end and while the changes aren't always quick, they are deeper and more lasting (again, with a substantial chance to eliminate the problem depending on how long you've had it and how severe it is).
